UNDERSTANDING
QI æ°£

Qì (æ°£) is one of those concepts that appears mysterious and confusing from the outside, especially to a western audience. Perhaps it is because qi has different meanings in Chinese language depending on context, or perhaps it is because understanding qi requires delving into nonphysical aspects of reality, including energy and consciousness, which became marginalized in science and western medicine until recently.

Thus, in order to help make the seemingly elusive concept of qi easier to understand, the articles below have been written to provide a basic introduction as to what qi is, along with the basics for understanding embodied qi perception.

MEET EV

Universal Qi is brought to you by
Evren "Ev" Juniper, Doctor of East Asian Medicine (DAcCHM). Ev's work is focused on integrating embodied experience with the scholarly study of early Chinese etymology and written works. In pairing embodied experience with the academic study of the roots of the medicine, she hopes to bring more clarity to concepts that have historically been mistranslated or misunderstood in order to revive the timeless universal wisdom that is held within. Her doctoral thesis, Embodied Universe, can be found at academia.edu.
